Bahrain Mirror: Head of Batelco Trade Union, Ali Alraqraq warned of a new wave of workers dismissals at Batelco, after the company was divided into 2 separate companies. He also expressed worry of the division's effect on the telecom services' prices.
Alraqraq noted in a statement many potential problems that might be resulted by the division of the company, indicating that it might affect the national economy, national labor at Batelco, and services' prices for consumers.
Moreover, he said that this intended project, which is to build a national network, completely failed in the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arbaia. He then implied that such a project should be reconsidered by those who are keen on the welfare of this country's economy, as this project seems to be useless.
In addition, Alraqraq stated that the division plan would have many negative results, which might include impacts on the national economy, impacts on the new company established after division, impacts on competitors and partners in the telecoms field, and impacts on the consumer.
