Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's First High Criminal Court presided over by judge Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa with the membership of judges Dia'a Al-Huraidi and Mohammad Jamal Awad and Abdullah Hassan as a secretariat sentenced 8 detainees, arrested over political cases, including a Gulf youth, to terms ranging from 5 to 3 years in prison, over escaping from detention center after attacking policemen with a shaver and piece of iron.

The court ordered to deport the second suspect, the Gulf youth, after serving his jail term.

The court convicted the suspects because on March 12, 2015, they, along with other unknowns, attacked the bodily integrity of 7 members of the public security forces for performing their jobs, noting that the attack did not hinder them from performing their personal works for more than 20 days, and escaped from the pre-trial detention (Dry Dock Prison) after being arrested.

The court accused the first and second suspects of using, along with other unknowns, violence and power against policemen, aiming at hampering them from performing their job, and causing them the damages mentioned in the medical reports.

The suspects, arrested over terrorist cases at the pre-trial detention in Dry Dock prison, agreed to escape at 10 AM. One of the arrested opened the ward's door with force, thus, the arrested rushed towards the main gate and hit the policemen who tried to intercept their way to prevent them from escaping. However, the arrested failed to achieve their aim as one of the policemen caught them.
