Alba Estimates about 5% Production Loss as Result of Power Outage Incident

Bahrain Mirror: Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) stated that the power outage that hit the company on Wednesday (April 5, 2017) might result in losses ranging between 3 and 5% of its annual production for 2017.
In a statement issued on Thursday (April 13, 2017), Alba said that a power plant shut down which led to a three-hour-long power outage in all five of the company's reduction lines. Alba further stated that it managed to restore four lines, while the fifth will remain semi-operational until the third quarter of 2017.
Alba estimated the incident will result in a loss of 3% to 5% of its total production for 2017 and the losses from the incident will be part of an insurance claim. The Company is conducting an investigation into the root causes of this incident. The company further noted that the recovery process is already underway and the Company has begun "re-starting" the pots which were affected by the incident.
