Bahrain Mirror: Lawyer Reem Khalaf said that a Bahraini court upheld a 6-month jail term against eulogy citer Mahdi Sahwan over taking part in Diraz protest.

Khalaf explained on her Twitter account on Monday (April 10, 2017) that Sahwan was charged with "assembling outside Sheikh Isa Qassim's house in Diraz on the day the authorities revoked his citizenship", adding that Sahwan "will be transferred to Jaw Prison" to serve his prison sentence.

The Bahraini authorities tried dozens of citizens over the charge of showing solidarity with the spiritual leader of Shia majority, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, whose nationality was revoked by the authorities on June 20, 2016.
