2017-03-11 - 1:55 am
Bahrain Mirror: The Second High Court of Appeal upheld a ruling to fine a 57-year-old Bahraini over insulting a journalist at Al-Watan Newspaper, Mona Al-Mtawaa'. He posted a screenshot of one of her article on his Instagram account, with an improper caption.
The Public Prosecution had convicted him in June 2015 of openly insulting the journalist.
The appellant did not deny the accusations, he rather admitted to be the owner of the account, and that he published the post.
The First Instance court ruled a 50 Dinars fine against him, which he appealed, yet the Court of appeal upheld the original ruling.
