Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini authorities arrested on Sunday (March 5, 2017) Haj Majeed Abdullah, after he took part, along with a dozen others, in a protest outside the General Secretariat of Grievances (Ombudsman). The protest called against the harassments practiced in Jaw Central Prison against the detainees.
The Hoora Police Station summoned Haj Majeed, known as Haj Somoud, for interrogations before detaining him.
Families of detainees denounced the ill-treatment faced by the detainees in the central prison, further complaining about the decision to reduce the visiting hours from 4 hours a month to only 1 hour divided between 2 visits. The detainees were also deprived of calling their families.
Detainees in Jaw have complained against the deteriorating situation in prison since the authorities implemented the death sentence against martyrs Abbas Al-Samie, Ali Al-Singace, and Sami Mushaima.
