Labor Ministry Says it Offered 66 Temp. Female Municipality Workers New Jobs with Higher Salaries

Bahrain Mirror: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Sabah Al Dosari, said that his ministry proposed to temporary female workers in the Ministry of Work, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning, better positions with higher salaries. The number of workers are 66 female workers who work in temporary positions, and who are from the 1912 academic enrolled under the "Tamkeen" training program.

Al Dosari said that some employees agreed on the offer presented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, while others refused, stressing they were promised to get full-time fixed jobs in the ministry and municipality.

A big number the female employees from the 1912 list were dismissed after almost 8 years of work in the municipalities. They were disappointed in placing them in their current jobs in the executive apparatuses and secretariats of municipalities. This came despite orders by Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on October 5, 2016, to settle and enhance their situations.
