Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court sentenced a Bahraini girl to 1-year in prison after convicting her of smuggling "weed" to her brother, who is imprisoned in "Jaw" Central Prison, according to what a local newspaper reported Friday January 27, 2017.
The defendant was accused of providing a narcotic substance (weed/cannabis), during one of her visits to "Jaw" Central Prison. The court ruled a 1-year imprisonment sentence against her, and a 1000 Bahraini Dinar fine.
According to the Public Prosecution, the "Jaw" Prison administration, had imposed a right control over inmates during the visit the defendant made. The administration monitored the cameras of the visiting rooms, and therefore saw that the defendant was giving her brother something during the visit. The monitoring police officer then directly entered the room and seized the substance to take the necessary measures.
