Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Royal Medical Services hospital confirmed that an international medical crew conducted medical operations for ordinary people, during their presence at the 4th annual conference for the Gulf Society for Bariatric Surgery and Metabolic Diseases. The conference was held in Bahrain between November 30 and December 2, 2016.
The Royal Medical Services denied news published by some local newspapers (Monday December 26, 2016), saying that an international surgeon conducted a bariatric surgery on a very important figure.
According to Bahrain News Agency, an official in the Royal Medical Services said, "The conference program included theoretical and practical workshops, in addition to surgeries conducted online for interns. The hospital provided the operation rooms and capacities to broadcast the operations live to lecture rooms. This gave the interns the opportunity to see the surgical operations live, and ask the surgeons direct questions while performing the operation. Therefore, this contributed to the success of the conference."
"Four operations were conducted by four doctors for four patients, who had registered their names in clinics before, and were not from any special category [of figures] as was published in newspapers today", the official added.
