Bahrain Mirror: Edwin Samuel, spokesperson for the UK government in the Middle East and North Africa, said that the largest UK military warship is now present in Bahrain's Mina Salman Port.
Samuel posted on his "Twitter" account (Tuesday December 6, 2016) a video of him on board the "HMS Ocean" warship; the biggest ship in the UK Royal Fleet. He clarified that the presence of the ship in the port demonstrated the UK's commitment to the Gulf Security, adding that its current duty is to detect mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
The British Prime Minister Theresa May is currently in Bahrain as a guest of honor at the GCC Leaders' Summit. The PM is scheduled to convene with the Gulf leaders on the sidelines of the summit, to discuss with them anti-terrorism issues, war on Yemen, and the situation in Syria, according to British officials.
