Bahrain Mirror: A mass protest took off from Imam Sadiq mosque in Diraz on Friday (December 2, 2016) after noon prayers and marched the village's streets. The protest condemned the sectarian persecution practiced against Shia in Bahrain.
Protestors held anti-government slogans, calling to put an end to Al Khalifa monopoly over power and end sectarian targeting and discrimination against Shia majority in the country. Protestors also demanded the release of opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman as well as stopping the trial and targeting of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim.
The authorities have prevented for the 20th consecutive week the Shia majority from performing their largest Friday prayer in Diraz, that has been witnessing an open sit-in outside Sheikh Isa Qassim's house and that has been suffering from a security siege due to the sit-in held in protest against the decision that revoked Sheikh Qassim's Citizenship.
