Bahrain Mirror: Reporters Without Borders (RSF) denounced on Wednesday (November 30, 2016) the 3-month jail term against Bahraini journalist and blogger Faisal Hayyat for allegedly insulting religion in a tweet.

"We condemn Faisal Hayyat's arbitrary detention, which reflects the Bahraini regime's determination to silence all critics, and we urge the authorities to free him immediately and unconditionally along with all the other journalists being held unjustly," said Alexandra El Khazen, the head of RSF's Middle East desk.

The organization indicated that Faisal Hayyat criticized the interior minister's comments about religious faith and his department's supposed respect for human rights. Faisal talked about his experience in the Bahraini prisons and torture sufferings. He was arrested and charged with insulting religions over a tweet.
