MoI Withdraws Passports of Citizens Returning from Iraq for Bearing Unofficial Stamps

Bahrain Mirror: Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said that passports of some Bahrainis had been withdrawn as they arrived in the country since they had the stamps of unauthorized bodies. The passports had therefore lost their official status and could not be used, he said.
He advised those who had had their passports withdrawn to contact the NPRA to complete the formalities for the issuance of new passports.
Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa further stated that the passport is a document for official use and can't be altered or amended, nor can its details be added to or removed for any reason, including stamping or writing by unofficial bodies.
Citizens said that the ministry of interior withdrew their passports as they returned from Arbaeen visit from Iraq and asked them to contact the NPRA without mentioning the reasons.
