Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Appeals Court adjourned (Sunday November 20, 2016), the trial of prominent clerics Sheikh Mohammad Jawad al-Shehabi, and Sheikh Fadel al-Zaki until December 6, 2016.

The First Instance Court had ruled (on October 6, 2016) the imprisonment of Sheikhs al-Shehabi and al-Zaki, for 2 years, putting the verdict into force immediately. The verdict was ruled after charging them with supporting the Shiite majority spiritual leader, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, whose nationality was revoked last June by the authorities

The Bahraini authorities have launched since last June the worst campaign since the Saudi and Emirati forces entered the country to crush democracy-demanding protests in March 2011.

In the recent campaign, dozens of activists were banned from leaving the country, while dozens of Shiite clerics were summoned and detained, as was prominent human rights activist Nabeel Rajab, who is now imprisoned.
