Bahrain Mirror: The Kuwaiti Appeals Court canceled on Tuesday (November 8, 2016) the decision to accept the nomination of former Member of Parliament, Abdul Hamid Dashti, for the "National Council" upcoming elections. The court said this is due to the illegality of being nominated by proxy.

Dashti announced through his Twitter account that he would appeal the Appeal Court's decision before the Court of Cassation, after which he expressed his respect to the decisions of the Kuwaiti courts.

Moreover, Dashti added, "After the Appeal Court's judgment today, tomorrow we will file the appeal against the court decision at the Court of Cassation, and our legal battle to attain our constitutional rights continues."

He indicated, "As we respected the court decision to nominate me for elections, we respect the court decision today, and we will continue with our case, until we remove injustice found on the way of Kuwaiti people achieving their rights."

Dashti is known for his anti-Saudi policies' stances, and as a result a Kuwaiti court had rules (July 27, 2016) a 14-year imprisonment sentence against him, for charges of insulting Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
