Video: Documentary for Al-Itijah Channel about Sheikh Isa Qassim with Testimonies of Currently-Detained Prominent Figures

Bahrain Mirror: The Iraq-based Al-Itijah channel aired a documentary about the spiritual leader in Bahrain ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim.

The one-hour documentary that was shown by the Al-Itijah channel tackles Sheikh Isa Qassim's life since the 60s of the past century when he worked in teaching.

The documentary displays several stages of Sheikh Qassim's life, on top going to Najaf and receiving studies at the hands of martyr Sayed Muhammad Baqir Al-Sadr and taking part in the National Assembly and Constituent Assembly, establishing Tawiya society, opposing the state security law, traveling to Iran in the 90s, returning to Bahrain in 2001, opposing the personal status law as well as his stance towards the 2011 uprising.

The film presents testimonies for each of sayed Abdullah Al-Ghuraifi who remained with Sheikh Qassim since the 70s of the past century, head of Bahrain Freedom Movement in London Dr. Saeed Al-Shihabi who worked with Qassim since the 70s, especially in Tawiya society, the currently-detained opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman, head of Ulama Islamic Council Sayed Majeed Al-Mashaal, head of Tawiya society Sheikh Baqer al-Hawaj and Sheikh Hassan Al-Maliki who was detained decades ago for joining Tawiya society.
