Bahraini Authorities Exile Mahmoud Khawiri after Years of Detention

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini authorities exiled Saturday morning (October 8, 2016), member of the Ettifaq Football Club citizen Mahmoud Khawiri.
Khawiri, born to a Bahraini mother and an Iranian father in 1993, never attained the Iranian citizenship. Since 2001, his mother tried to attain a Bahraini citizenship for him after her divorce from his father.
The football player was arrested in April 2013 and later sentenced to prison for a whole year, after charging him with political accusations. However, after serving his aforementioned sentence, he was not released. He remained in custody from April 2014 for more than two years until the decision to exile him today (October 8).
