Lawyer Al-Tajer: If Government Remains Stubborn it Will Lead Bahrain to the Unknown

Bahrain Mirror: Lawyer and rights activist Mohammed al-Tajer said that the Bahraini authorities do not only treat pro-opposition Bahrainis arbitrarily, but they rather treat the entire nation with a sense of superiority and arrogance, taking with measures, and making laws and decisions that are not good for the conduct and progress of a state living in the 21st century.

In a statement made to Arabic-Speaking Russian website "Sputnik International", al-Tajer added that "the measures are not only imprisonment, silencing of voices, and travel bans, but rather include all aspects of life. That is why we notice the deterioration even in the livelihood" of citizens.

"Bahrain is no longer the country of destination for the people of the Gulf to study or receive medical treatment as it was intended to be. All this is doomed for the benefit of certain countries in the Gulf," he stressed.

According to al-Tajer, "the main problem now is the completely collapsed economy, and the reason behind it is that the state resorts to laws and procedures that repel investments, and instead focuses on the purchase of weapons and the increasing the numbers of police, security force, and military service men. All this stands on the account of human development and the economy."

Al-Tajer highlighted that the government must be willing to listen, conduct dialogue and change, and not carry on a formal dialogue that reaches no results."

He further noted that "if the authorities continued with their stubbornness, they will lead Bahrain to the unknown. However, there remains hope for those who listen to the voice of reason and change."
