Bahrain Public Prosecution Decides to Detain 6 Shia Clerics for 15 Days Pending Investigation

Bahrain Mirror: The Public Prosecution in Bahrain decided to detain 6 Shia clerics on Wednesday (August 10, 2016), including the head of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim's office, for 15 days.
Activists on social media said that the prosecution decided to take into custody head of Ayatollah Qassim's office Sheikh Hussein Al-Mahrous, Al-Wefaq's Sayed Hadi Al-Ghuraify, Sayed Yassine Al-Musawi, Sheikh Moneer Al-Maatouk, Sheikh Azi Al-Khadran and Sheikh Imad Al-Shaala for 15 days pending investigation.
In a statement the prosecution said that it interrogated 12 defendants over assembly in Diraz and ordered their arrest over "illegal assembling".
The Bahraini authorities decided yesterday to detain 4 Shiite religious scholars for 15 days over the same charge.
SALAM for Democracy and Human Rights stated that the authorities have targeted the followers of the Shiite sect and summoned 47 clerics, of whom 13 were arrested, over a period of less than two months.
