Bahrain Mirror: Senior Bahraini clerics, on top Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, demanded the release of detained clerics including the head of the (dissolved) Ulama Islamic Council, Sayyed Majeed Al-Mashaal, who was arrested for leading a protest in Diraz.
The statement signed by Sheikh Isa Qassim, Sayed Abdullah Al-Ghuraifi, Sheikh Mohammad Saleh Al-Rabiee and Sheikh Abdulhussein Al-Sitri read "the ongoing summons and arrests of clerics, including Sayyed Majeed Al-Mashaal- one of the prominent clerics, have bad consequences on the country's stability and security." The statement further read "we call for the release of Sayyed Al-Mashaal and other clerics. We also urge to stop the summons and arrests and to deal with issues with the language of dialogue in order not to let things deviate toward further tension and aggravation."
