Majeed Milad Released after Serving Prison Term

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's security authorities released the senior member of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, Majeed Milad, on Friday (July 1, 2016) after he served one-year jail term.
A court of first instance sentenced Milad to two years in prison over charges of delivering political sermons, The court of appeals; however, commuted the sentence to one year.
The Bahraini authorities have launched since 2015 a widespread campaign against the country's opposition, arresting opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman, head of Al-Wefaq Shura Sayed Jameel Kadhem, member of Al-Wefaq secretariat Majeed Milad and Fadhel Abbas, and former Secretary General of Al-Wahdawi party.
