Bahrain Mirror: The US State Department stressed that they will continue to press the Bahraini authorities to make improvements on their human rights record.
"We continue to press the Bahraini authorities to make improvements on their human rights record and also to address ongoing human rights concerns, and not just affiliated with high-profile cases but across the board," said Deputy Spokesperson, Mark Toner.
Toner's comments came in response to a question during a press briefing held on Friday (June 10, 2016), asking about the case of Zainab Al-Khawaja, who was recently released: "There were apparently several other - cases similar to this, although involving less - perhaps less high-profile people," wondering "if your conversations with the Bahraini authorities are limited to these high-profile cases, or are you continuing to press the Bahrainis on releasing people for - political prisoners or people who you believe to be political prisoners?"
