Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini authorities deported a citizen to the Iranian city of Mashhad after keeping him in custody for 3 years over his role in political protests.
Human rights activists affirmed that Hassan Abo Al-Kassim was deported on Saturday (May 14, 2016) to Mashhad.
Abo Al-Kassim was sentenced to one year in prison in 2013, yet the authorities detained him for 3 years under the pretext that he is "not Bahraini".
The authorities have been detaining his brothers Mohammad and Ali Fakhrawi since 2015. Activists published a photo of the exiled Bahraini national Hassan Abo Al-Kassim at the moment he arrived to Mashhad's airport while being welcomed by Farhad Korshid, a Bahraini citizen who was deported earlier by the authorities as well.
