Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Parliament issued a statement in its session on Tuesday (April 19, 2016) in which "it stressed on the need to take all measures so as to put an end to the practices of Iran and the Lebanon's Hezbollah," which it deemed a terrorist group, also calling for declaring "war on terrorism fomented by Wilayat Al-Faqih."
The Parliament highlighted that it backed "the statement which was issued by the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) in support of the Ministry of Interior in confronting the terrorist attacks which target on-duty policemen who defend Bahrain's security and stability and protect lives and properties", describing the Bahraini army's statement as "historic and a brave stance".
"The acts of violence, extremism and terrorism reached alarmingly dangerous levels amid incitement by the extremist religious platforms, radical groups and other terrorist groups that work on defaming Bahrain's reputation inside and outside the country," the Member of Parliaments added in their statement.
The MPs further called for "taking more strict measures against the opposition," claiming that the measures taken against so-called "extremists and ravagers" did not match the size of the incidents and extremist and terrorist acts that took place in the last period and the threat and risk they made to country's stability and peace."
The statement then concluded that "it is time for an iron-fist approach to confront the lawbreakers and hold them accountable in order to deter anyone who attempts to damage the country's interests and diturb its security and stability, drive wedges between people and undermine national unity."
