PHOTOS: Thousands of Bahrainis Stage Final Funeral Procession for Late Shiite Cleric Al-Wedai

Bahrain Mirror: Thousands of Bahrainis took part in the final funeral procession of the prominent Shiite cleric late Sayed Jawad Al-Wedai (93 years old) on Friday (March 25, 2016).
The march, in which top Bahraini clerics joined namely Ayatollah Sheikkh Isa Qassem, was held from Ras Rouman to his grace in Al-Houra cemetery in the Bahraini capital Manama.
The clerics extended their condolences over Al-Wedai's demise and stressed that "the Shiite sect has lost a strong defender of the believers' causes." Al-Wedai was one of the prominent Bahraini clerics who supported the protestors' demands in Bahrain throughout the various stages of the pro-democracy movement.
The Shiite Marja Grand Ayatollah Sayed Ali Al-Sistani sent his most sincere condolences over the demise of Sayed Al-Wedai. In a letter of condolence addressed to Al-Wedai's son Sayed Saeed, Al-Sistani said that Al-Wedai spent his life "promoting for the Sharia and serving the believers," extending his condolences to "the people of Bahrain in general and the eminent clerics in particular."
