Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Fourth High Criminal Court, presided over by judge Ali bin Khalifa Al-Dhahrani with the membership of Osama Al-Shadhili and Wael Ibrahim and Ahmad Sulaiman as secretariat, sentenced a defendant to 15 years in prison, over alleged charges of attempted murder, training on the use firearms as well as the possession of arms. The court also stripped the suspect of his nationality and ordered the confiscation of seized items.

The authorities claimed that on March 22, 2015, the defendant opened fire at a number of security officers, aiming at killing them while they were on duty in Sitra, which led to injuring one of the officers.

The Public Prosecution relied on the hearsay evidence (testimonies) and attesting witnesses (policemen) and technical evidence to prove the charges.

It is noteworthy that the Fourth Criminal Court was established in June 2013 to accommodate the large number of cases raised against protestors and activists and expedite the issuance of harsh sentences against them under the Terrorism Act.
