Bahrain Mirror: The Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee of the Kuwaiti Parliament, during its meeting held on Sunday (March 13, 2016), agreed to lift the parliamentary immunity of Member of Parliament Abdulhamid Dashti over a state security case.
The Kuwaiti daily Al-Rai Al-Aam reported on its official website that this decision comes based on the Public Prosecution's request to lift the immunity of MP Dashti for the purpose of interrogating him in a case raised against him by the Saudi Embassy to Kuwait, accusing him of insulting Saudi Arabia and its leadership and inciting others against it, during an interview with a Syrian television channel.
The newspaper further pointed out that the parliamentary committee's decision will be voted upon in the parliament to receive approval.
