Life-Imprisonment Handed Down to 3 Suspects & 15 Year-Term to Another over Assembly & Shooting in Bahrain’s Sanabis

Bahrain Mirror: The Chief of Bahrain's Terrorist Crimes Prosecution, attorney-general Ahmad Al-Hammadi, said that Bahrain's Fifth High Criminal Court convicted on March 10, 2016, four suspects over charges of attempted murder, starting fire, assembling, rioting and having possession of Molotov cocktails. The court sentenced the first three suspects to life imprisonment and the 4th to 15 years in prison, in addition to paying a total amount of 522 BD for the damages caused to the vehicle and the confiscation of seized items.
The authorities claimed that the suspects assembled with others in Sanabis on November 27, 2014 while having possession of a number of tires and flammable materials, then they headed towards the Budai Street and set the tires ablaze on the main road, tried to stop a bus owned by a private company and poured a flammable materials on it aiming at setting it on fire. The bus driver; however, managed to escape. The suspects also opened fire at the bus aiming at killing the bus driver and passengers. The bus was damaged as a result, according to the authorities.
The authorities said that they relied on "the attesting witnesses and technical evidence" to identify the four suspects.
