Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The third general conference of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions (GFBTU) ended on a sad note after it was announced that the active member of the federation, Abdulameer Al-Shakhouri (58 years old) had passed away. His death was sudden following a heart attack he suffered from during the dinner held at the end of the second day of the conference.

The news was a shock to the attendees and his fellow colleagues who accompanied him during their busy journey of social and union work.

The GFBTU mourned Al-Shakhouri's death , who was present during the first two days of the conference as part of the organizing team.

For his part, Sayed Hashem Al-Mousawi, the president of the Water and Electricity Authority Workers Union said that "the late Abdulameer Al-Shakhouri left us so quickly while he fought for the working class," adding that Al-Shakhouri "was an example of devotion to establish the union right of workers in the (government ) public sector."

Al-Shakhouri was one of the founders of the Water and Electricity Authority Workers Union and an active member of the GFBTU since its establishment.
