Court Upholds One-Year Prison Term against Owner of "Bou Khamees" Twitter Account over Insulting Al-Arabiya Correspondent

Bahrain Mirror: The Third Bahraini High Criminal (Appeals) Court, presided over by judge Rashid bin Ahmad Al Khalifa with the membership of Saber Joumaa and Bader Al-Abdalla and Mubarak Al-Anbari as a secretariat, upheld a verdict imprisoning the owner of "Bou Khamees" Twitter account for one year over charges of "insulting" the Al-Arabiya channel correspondent, Mohammed Al-Arab, and acquitted him of the charge of causing disturbance.
Al-Arab brought forth a complaint against "Bou Khamees" after the later insulted him following an injury he sustained in his arm while covering the war on Yemen.
It noteworthy that a Bahraini court sentenced the owner of "Bou Khamees" account on February 18, 2016 to five years in prison for taking a stance against the war on Yemen.
