Bahraini Gov't to Form Security Committee to Monitor Fundraisers

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's official news agency (BNA) published a report stating that the Government of Bahrain approved on Monday (January 11, 2016) a proposal by the Minister of Interior to form a committee to monitor the process of trading funds and fundraising operations. This committee will be concerned with monitoring trading and raising funds for nonpublic purposes, fundraising and money laundering.
The government justified the decision by stating that it aims at monitoring the activities which contradict with the law and harm Bahrain's social peace and security, or fund illegal or hostile activities for parties outside the kingdom.
It further revealed that the main role of the committee is to coordinate the efforts between the various competent authorities, adding that it will constitute of the General Manager of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic security as chairman with the memberships of competent and concerned ministry representatives.
