Bahraini Gov't to Lift Electricity & Water Subsidies Next March

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Minister of Energy Mirza Abdul Hussain Mirza announced that the Bahraini Cabinet agreed to change the electricity and water tariffs, pointing out that the decision will be implemented as of March, 2016.
The Minister further said that lifting electricity and water subsidies will not include citizens in the first period, but will include Bahrainis who own more than one account starting from next March.
"Subsidies will be lifted from Bahrainis who own more than one account and non Bahrainis gradually during a period of 4 years, until it reaches the real cost price of 29 Fils", he added during a Press Conference on Monday (January 4, 2016).
