Public Utilities Committee Recommends Reclaiming Residence Units of Citizens Stripped of Nationality with 3 Months Evacuation Notice

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Public Utilities and Environment Committee of the (appointed) Shura Council decided to submit its final report about the committees repeated articles on the housing bill, after issuing articles (9,10, 17 & 35) of the bill in the presence of the Housing Ministry representatives.
Pursuant to Article (9), according to the committee's recommendations and taking into consideration Article (52) of this law, an individual can no longer benefit from a residence in a number of cases including if: one's Bahraini nationality was withdrawn or revoked based on the law.
The committee also passed a new article (10) stipulating that if one of the cases listed in article (9) of this law took place, the minister will issue a decision to deny the individual utilization of the residence based on an issued judicial sentence, and the ministry will reclaim the dwelling after granting the beneficiary a maximum three months written notice to evacuate.
