Bahrain’s King Promotes National Security Apparatus Head to Lieutenant-General

Bahrain Mirror: The King of Bahrain issued a Royal Order No. 40/2015, promoting the director of the National Security Apparatus (NSA) Adel bin Khalifa Hamad Al-Fadhel to lieutenant-general.
The Royal Order read that "it is to come into effect on the date of its release" on October 8, 2015.
The NSA is affiliated to the Prime Minister according to a decree issued on May 8, 2002.
Activists and human rights defenders accuse the NSA of detaining and torturing dissenters.
