Bahrain to Lift Subsidies on Electricity as of Next January

Bahrain Mirror: A few days after the decision to lift subsidies on meat came into effect, Bahrain is leaning towards lifting subsidies on electricity very soon.
Lawyer Fatima Al-Hawaj reported from a Parliamentary source that "lifting subsidies on electricity will start next January." Al-Hawaj commented on her own social media account saying "the middle class will disappear and it will become poor."
It is noteworthy that the government went forth by itself with implementing the decision to lift subsidies on meat last week without referring to the Parliament.
Chairman of the joint committee between the cabinet and parliament, which was established to reach understandings, Majid Al Majid, only expressed his surprise regarding the matter.
