Bahrain Livestock Company Imposes New Conditions on Butchers

Bahrain Mirror: On the first day of lifting government subsidies on meat (Thursday, October 1, 2015), the Bahrain Livestock Company imposed a number of conditions and rules on the butchers who wish to buy locally fresh slaughtered meat and imported frozen meat.
The conditions included the following: each butcher shall submit a written order to the company at least 3 days before the date of delivery, all the ordered quantities shall be received, the price of the quantity that the butcher does not receive shall be deducted from his account, paying shall be within 3 days after receiving the order, each butcher shall pay 500 BD as a deposit, additional costs shall be included for delivering orders to areas other than the central markets and prices shall differ according to the market variables. In case the demand surpassed the supply, the company has the right to distribute the quantity based to its own assessment.
