Bahrain Mirror: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) condemned the joint statement issued by the United Nations Human Rights Council that was delivered by the Swiss Federation on behalf of a number of states that condemned human rights violations in Bahrain.
A Gulf meeting said that the statement "includes a lot of false information and allegations about human rights. It failed to acknowledge the tangible progress documented in official reports which were issued recently."
The council expressed its "support for all measures taken by Bahrain to enhance human rights and the implementation of all international recommendations in this regard." It further stated that the GCC States will take all appropriate actions against the states that lobbied against the Kingdom of Bahrain and other GCC countries to defend their interests.
