Bahrain Mirror: The Vice President of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR), Yousif Al-Muhafdha, said that Bahrain's Public Prosecution is covering up the crimes of the Interior Ministry, pointing out that the Attorney-General, Fadhel Al-Buainain, was an employee in the military institution (...) and that the prosecutors are a gang that conspires with the ministry.

In response to the prosecution's statements, he said "I believe that the prosecution's statements about the law are of no value, as one of its senior prosecutors, Ahmed Bou Jiri, beat the detainee Taleb Ali and threatened to kill him with a firearm."

"The prosecution covered up dozens of murder and torture crimes committed by various security and military apparatuses. It, however, justifies some of them occasionally," added Al-Muhafdha.

He went to say that the head of the Public Prosecution's office Ali Fadhel Al-Buainain is a former officer of the Ministry of Interior who committed a number of violations when he held that position.

Al-Muhafdha further stated that "the prosecutor Fahad Al-Buainain covered up the torture of many prisoners and assaulted them. How can we expect justice from a group of criminals?" adding that "detainee Sajjad Al-Alawi stated in the court that the prosecutor Hamad Al-Buainain was the one who tortured him and forced him into making false confessions. How shall we attain justice from criminals?"

"Four years ago, Ali Al-Sheikh was killed and when witnesses went to testify, they were arrested. The case is still pending in the prosecution to date despite its clarity," he said.

"I won't be exaggerating if I say that the prosecution attorneys are gangs that conspire with the security apparatuses and regime to cover up crimes and fabricate charges against dissenters."
