Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahraini authorities released on Wednesday (August 19, 2015) the Al-Wasat newspaper journalist, Hani Al-Fardan, after questioning him over an article in which he criticized the Bahraini Parliament's support of the armed People's Mojahedin of Iran group also known as Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO).
Al-Fardan was interrogated over an article that mentioned the Salafist Member of Parliament, Jamal Bouhassan, who attended one of the meetings of the People's Mojahedin of Iran held in Paris, in which he expressed how Bahrain and its Parliament support the organization's fight against the Iranian regime.
The Public Prosecution listened to Al-Fardan's testimony regarding the matter and what proves the validity of the information he published in his article before releasing him. The prosecution will later decide whether to dismiss the case or refer Al-Fardan to trial.
