Minister of Information Affairs Confirms that Bahrain Will Lift Subsidies on Meat Starting Next Month

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Minister of Information Affairs, Isa Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi, announced that "the government will remove subsidies on meat starting from September 1, 2015" pointing out that "the mechanism of implementing the decision has not been concluded yet and that discussions are underway with the executive authority in this regard."
During the weekly press conference that followed the cabinet meeting on Monday (August 17, 2015), Al-Hammadi said: "There is a joint committee between the government and the executive authority which holds ongoing meetings concerning lifting subsidies on some commodities and services that are supported by the government. Lifting subsidies on meat, as we have already announced, will come into effect starting September 1st. Discussions are now underway with the executive authority about the mechanism of implementing the decision. In case of any updates, the public will be informed about them."
