Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahrain Human Rights Society (BHRS) said it received 75 complaints regarding the results of the study abroad and regular scholarships for the scholastic year 2014/2015, pointing out that it sent letters to what it described as "higher authorities" including the Education Minister, Speaker of Consultative (Shura) Council and Speaker of the Parliament.
In its addresses, BHRS called on these parties to reconsider the distribution of the scholarships, adopt transparency in publishing the names of those who were granted scholarships, publish the scholarships plan for the current year and respond to the complaints of the top-ranking students in a way that serves their interest and that of Bahrain by benefiting from the intellectual excellence of the top-ranking students.
The Bahrain Human Rights Society expressed its hope that these parties whom it addressed will take the complaints into consideration and work on fulfilling the wishes of their top-ranking students.
