King Hamad Issues a Special Pardon to Nabeel Rajab

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued on Monday (July 13, 2015) a royal decree granting a special pardon to the prominent human rights defender, Nabeel Rajab, who is sentenced to six months in prison.
Bahrain News Agency (BNA) stated that the King issued the pardon for health reasons.
Rajab is serving a six-month sentence after being convicted of insulting the military institution.
The Bahraini authorities have faced a lot of pressure following the sentencing of Rajab, who was arrested pending investigation after being accused of promoting false news.
