Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Seattle's True Independent Film Festival (STIFF) will present Witness Bahrain documentary in one of the movie theatres of Seattle in Washington D.C., on May 7, 2015.

Jen Marlowe directed the film. She is a member of the Witness Bahrain group that traveled to the Gulf Kingdom of Bahrain in 2012 in order to clandestinely observe, document, and expose the continued repression and abuses of regime forces against protesters, since the uprising erupted on February 14, 2011, calling for the downfall of the dictatorship in the country.

Bahraini authorities detained Jen Marlowe and deported her. The filmmaker said that this feature offers a piercing look into Bahrain two years after the uprising was launched. She posted a tweet on her Twitter account saying that tickets for the film's premiere are almost sold out:

The Witness Bahrain trailer reveals that the film includes an interview with the mother of martyr Ali Al-Sheikh, who was martyred in the same year and another interview with one of the masked protesters who took part in the anti-regime demonstrations.

The film documents the events that took place in Bahrain after the Arab Spring and uncovers stories of doctors tortured for treating protestors, nurses treating injured youth at underground clinics, and the arrest of children and human rights defenders.

The Witness Bahrain documentary will be screened during the Seattle's True Independent Film Festival, where the latest independent films will be presented and filmmakers will be interviewed. The festival will be launched on May 1st and will last until May 9, 2015.
